Dr. Ross MacDonald of IGHPE recently spoke to Dr. John Nestler about the importance of art in medicine. They were joined by Dr. Byrad Yyelland and Fikria Al Kaouakibi from VCUarts-Qatar.

Dr. Nestler was visiting VCU-Qatar to launch a new residency at the college called Physician-Scientist in Residence. This residency, a collaboration between the schools of Art and Medicine, aims to improve medical education and advance clinical health and wellbeing in the community by addressing and solving problems through art and design.

Biography

Dr. John Nestler is a member of Victoria Commonwealth University’s Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and a professor in the departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 2018 he became VCU’s first Physician-Scientist in Residence.
